Instead of going on our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to take my Italian/American family around Spain. We visited Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, etc. They fell in love with Spain and its culture. One of their favorite sights was the massive Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Let’s look at some family vocab.

  • padres – parents/folks
  • hijos – kids/sons (only male)
  • hija – daughter
  • abuelos – grandparents
  • tío – uncle
  • tía- aunt
  • sobrino – nephew
  • sobrina – niece
  • primos – cousins
  • hermanos – siblings
  • suegra – mother-in-law
  • suegro – father-in-laws
  • suegros – in-laws
